Patricia A. Ruddy, M. Ed., MFT earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Psychology from Marywood College, located in Scranton, Pennsylvania in May 1982. As Patricia worked in a psychiatric hospital and then an outpatient mental health clinic, she aspired to obtain more education so that she could provide psychotherapy.
She earned a Master's of Education in Counseling in 1986 from Stetson University, in Deland, Florida. She continued to gain experience working within community mental health, such as chronic and acute populations, dually diagnosed, and chemically dependent. She then worked for Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in the Counseling department, providing psychotherapy for individual, couples, and groups for personal emotional, social, and educational concerns.
Patricia A. Ruddy, M. Ed., MFT continued to pursue academic challenges and earned a license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida in 1993. She then began some private practice, providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families, along with individuals, couples, and groups dealing with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, codependency, grief, substance abuse, and adult survivors of abuse.
Patricia A. Ruddy, M. Ed., MFT relocated back to her home state as she continued to work with children, adolescents, and families. She again met challenges and received a license as a Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania in 2002.
She really missed the warm climate and moved to California where she continued to strive to provide psychotherapy and faced the challenges within the state of California and successfully earned her license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in April 2005. As a mother of three children, two daughters and a son, Patricia brings extensive personal experience to the practice of psychotherapy.
